Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Sergio López, the Death Valley Burn lost to the St. Paul Bearers, 5-3. López went 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI. Death Valley's current losing streak is now 4 games.

The Bearers got an important contribution from center fielder Lang Xú, who in the bottom of the first punched a 3-1 fastball into center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 27th double of the season and put the Bearers ahead, 4-0.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said St. Paul manager Mitchell Slacko.
