Jail Break Continue Skid, Thanks to Hall, Cheesesteaks
|
The exploits of designated hitter Chris Hall, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2071 draft, helped the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks defeat the Alcatraz Island Jail Break, 10-0. Hall went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Ken Barnett picked up the win with 8.1 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 10-10. The first-place Cheesesteaks have won 6 in a row.
Artie Martin had a big 2-run double for the Cheesesteaks in the top of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Chalis Kilonzo, who is tied for 6th in the FR in quality starts with 15, and swatted a double to left. It was his 38th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cheesesteaks ahead, 3-0.
"Nothing to write home about," Alcatraz Island manager Justin Fusco said, when asked afterward about the game.
