Jail Break Mow Down Revolution, 9-2
|
The Alcatraz Island Jail Break thumped the Boston Revolution, 9-2, at Jackie Robinson Place. Vicente Méndez was a big reason his team got the win. Méndez was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Boston's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Alcatraz Island used a clutch hit from Nick Juárez to get the win. The third baseman drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Jail Break ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Juárez told the Alcatraz Island Gazette. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
