Crop Circles Earn 2-1 Home Win
|
The Iowa Crop Circles used a great performance from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Fernando Farías to beat the Havana Comrades, 2-1, at The Cornfield. The victory puts Iowa at 50-80.
The Crop Circles got a big at-bat from second baseman Fred Cole. For the game, Cole went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Iowa a 2-0 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Farías told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
