Collins Fans 15 Coyotes
|
Everything was working for Ron Collins today at Hot Box. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The knuckleball was working.
In an unforgettable performance, the 29-year-old Collins fanned 15 Coyotes and sparked the West Island Storm to a 1-0 victory over Keg Creek. He left Coyotes hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said West Island manager . "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 15 strikeouts over 8 innings, Collins allowed 2 hits and 2 walks in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Collins said with a smile.
In season stats Collins shows a 13-9 record in 27 games, 225.1 innings, 247 strikeouts and a 2.36 ERA.
