Storm Deck Coyotes, 10-3
|
West Island catcher Hisashi Yoshikawa made his presence felt in the 10-3 Storm triumph over the Keg Creek Coyotes. Yoshikawa went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Lee Costa earned the win to go to 12-9. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 8 walks and 4 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. Brandon Perkins, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Kuei-lin Chia had a big grand slam home run for the Storm in the bottom of the third inning. With West Island trailing 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Alan Johnson and swatted a home run to left. It was his 24th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Storm ahead, 6-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chia. "And not try to do too much."
The Storm have an impressive 83-48 record.
