Mashers Clip Cheesesteaks, 4-3
|
Philadelphia got a valiant performance from pitcher José Paredes, but it wasn't enough to beat the Crab Apple Cove Mashers. Crab Apple Cove won the game, 4-3. Paredes threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Crab Apple Cove pitcher Tim Barnes got the win, upping his record to 8-4. Ernest Reese got the loss. Crab Apple Cove is now 56-77, Philadelphia 83-50.
Ethan Klein was the walk-off hero for Crab Apple Cove. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mashers designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Philadelphia manager Joey Santangelo said following the tough loss.
