Monuments Drop Ravens, 5-4
|
In a close game at Battle Field, the Washington Monuments edged the Richmond Ravens, 5-4. Washington second baseman Bo Walls stood apart with his performance. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Lorenzo López got the win, improving to 1-2. He held the Ravens to 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The win gives Washington a record of 7-7.
Washington used the bat of Kurt Barras to capture the win. The shortstop jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Monuments ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Walls.
