The Ozark Outlaws locked up a win at The Chicken Coop, knocking off the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 2-1. On the mound for Ozark was left-hander Juan Luis Martínez. He played a major role in the triumph. Scott Cabrera was credited with the save, his 25th in 28 tries. The Outlaws, at 66-67, sit in third place in the Appalachian Southern.
Donnie Gillespie, who is tied for 6th in the AP in extra base hits with 53, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gillespie contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Ozark up, 1-0.
"Makes our job easier," said Gillespie, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
