With first baseman Manuel Costa leading the charge, the Keg Creek Coyotes defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-3, at Welsh Field. Costa, who finished 5th in the AP in RBI with 99 in 2070, hit 2 home runs. The Coyotes go to 54-80 with the win.

Keg Creek used a clutch at-bat from José Gil to capture the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Coyotes ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Costa. "You've got to get results."
