Keg Creek Downed, 5-2, by Maulers
|
The Minneapolis Maulers faced a tough opponent in Keg Creek pitcher Gerald Casey, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Coyote Den Stadium by a final score of 5-2. Casey went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Minneapolis reliever Lorenzo Díaz was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Hsin-pei Gui took the loss. George McCreehy got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Dave Erwin came through with a big-time hit for Minneapolis. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Erwin said (again).
With the loss, Keg Creek is 8-4.
