Border Jumpers Deal Ice Pirates 8-4 Defeat
|
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Kun Pak, the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates lost to the Laredo Border Jumpers, 8-4. Pak went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Laredo pitcher Wiley Prince got the win. He's now 15-9. Thomas Lewis was tagged with the loss. Laredo goes to 79-57. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
Laredo relied on the hitting of Brandon Lockhart to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Border Jumpers on top, 4-1. For the game, Lockhart had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We maximized our offense today," said Laredo skipper Dave Galindo. "That makes everyone's life easier."
