Reading pitcher Dax McKames gave the Cuervo all they could handle, but in the end, San Jose left Welsh Field with a win, 2-1. McKames allowed no runs on 1 hit over 6 innings. Iván Ruíz converted his 31st save in 32 tries. With the win, San Jose pushed its record to 75-61.
