Launch Drop 4-1 Decision
|
The Richmond Ravens extended their winning streak.
Richmond used a superb performance from starting pitcher Tony Herrera to down the Cape Canaveral Launch, 4-1. Herrera got the win, improving to 7-7. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run.
Juan Guzmán had a big run-scoring double for the Ravens in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Richmond leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Tim Estes, who finished 5th in the AP in ERA with 2.70 last year, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 33rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ravens ahead, 3-1.
"The vibe's good," said Richmond manager Jason Cary. "We've got to keep it going."
Richmond has 7 straight wins, Cape Canaveral 3 straight losses.
