Burn Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
Fans who congregated at BackWet Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Death Valley Burn faced a tough opponent in Laredo pitcher José Rojas, but did just enough to pull out the victory at BackWet Stadium by a final score of 6-5. Rojas went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Now 5-10, the Border Jumpers have not played well this season.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Sergio López came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Laredo pitcher Peyton Jones, he hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Death Valley on top, 6-5.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said López.
