Alary Lays Hammer Down in 7-4 Win
|
The Washington Monuments beat the Honolulu High Tide, 7-4. Washington pitcher and Camden, Tennessee, native Ernesto Alary led the way. The save went to Brandon Holcomb, his 41st this season. Honolulu's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Alary's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 11 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 4 hits. Alary, who is tied for 4th in the AP with a 0.97 WHIP, goes to 13-6 on the year with 202 strikeouts.
"I believe in our guys," said Washington skipper Ed Malloy. "I like the energy they're playing with."
