The Michigan Militia topped the Minneapolis Maulers, 14-3, in Appalachian action at Assembly Line Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Michigan designated hitter Tom Brown. The winner was Roderick Pérez in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Alfredo Careno took the loss. Juan Solís earned his 10th save in 17 tries.

The Militia got a big hit from center fielder Walt Browning. In the bottom of the sixth, Browning pounded a 2-run double to left-center. His 26th double of the season put the Militia ahead, 5-2.

"It was our day today," Brown told the Michigan Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."

The losses continue to add up for Minneapolis, which has now fallen 13 times in a row.
