Coyotes Lose By a Run at Vermont, 3-2
|
Vermont Lake Monsters starter Carlos Delgado was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Keg Creek Coyotes, 3-2. Delgado went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 10. His record improves to 10-9. Iván Ruíz earned his 33rd save in 40 chances.
The Lake Monsters got an important contribution from third baseman Ed Greer, who in the bottom of the third punched a 1-2 cutter into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 43rd home run of the season and put the Lake Monsters ahead, 3-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Greer said after the game.
