Bearers Get Past Glacier Bay for 1-0 Win

Both teams had their chances, but the St. Paul Bearers eventually prevailed.
The St. Paul Bearers had to overcome a fine performance from Glacier Bay pitcher Mark Cunningham to grab a 1-0 win at Liquor Luge. Cunningham allowed no runs over 7 innings. The win for the Bearers raised their record to 71-69.
St. Paul needed the clutch hitting of Minoru Kobayashi to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bearers on top, 1-0. For the game, Kobayashi had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Paul manager Mitchell Slacko.
