A good performance from first baseman Francisco Olivares helped the West Island Storm defeat the Newark Falcons, 9-3. Olivares went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Storm. The win gives West Island a season record of 85-53.

With West Island leading 3-2 in the top of the third, Olivares hit a fastball from Steve Gonzáles for a 3-run home run. It was his 37th home run of the season and put the Storm ahead, 6-2.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said West Island manager .
