Newark Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Newark Falcons stopped the Richmond Ravens, 6-5, at Falcons Field. The Falcons got a big game from Tony Leslie, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Diego Noriega notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. His record now sits at 5-2. Newark has now won 5 games in a row.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Newark trailing 5-3, Leslie jumped on a curveball from four-time All-Star Bartolo Salazar and hit a 3-run home run to left. With one swing, the Falcons had a walk-off win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Leslie said.
