Rum Runners Prevail, 3-1, Over Washington
|
The Orlando Rum Runners got a stellar performance from pitcher José Cuin, who handcuffed the Washington offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Krono Field. Nick Sharpley finished to wrap up his 4th save. Orlando goes to 7-7.
Mike Allen, who finished 3rd in the AP in home runs with 39 in 2069, chipped in for Orlando with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Rum Runners manager Brett Jackson, "I like our chances."
