Storm Beat Monuments, 7-4, at Hot Box
|
The West Island Storm downed the Washington Monuments, 7-4, at Hot Box. Hunter Cranwell led the way, going 4-for-5 for West Island . The winner was West Island reliever Roberto Flores, now 8-10. The loser was Arturo Báez. The save was credited to Vincent Curtis, his 23rd.
The Storm got a big boost from designated hitter Sergio López who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Monuments hurler Arturo Báez. It was his 41st walk of the season and put West Island on top, 1-0.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Storm manager Slam Dunks BabySitting a Team. "This one was nice to get."
West Island is now 55-87, Washington 78-63.
