Big Game from Watanabe Not Enough, Monuments Lose
|
The Orlando Rum Runners had to overcome a good performance from Washington pitcher Kunitaro Watanabe to claim a 1-0 win at The Grand Lodge. Watanabe went 8 innings and allowed no runs. Nick Sharpley got credit for the save for Orlando. It was his 29th of the year. Orlando is now 72-72. Washington is 84-60.
Watanabe pitched a very strong game for the Monuments, allowing 3 hits in 8 innings while striking out 5. It was all for naught, however.
