Starting pitcher Fernando Franco pitched well enough to help the Reading Railbirds beat the San Jose Cuervo, 6-4. Ed Leibnitz got the save, his 11th in 12 chances. The winning continues for Reading, with the latest making it 9 straight.

Fernando Batista made it 5-4 in favor of Reading when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the tenth. The red-hot Railbirds went on to win.
