Cantú Lifts Ridge Raptors to 6-3 Win
|
Getting offensive support from David Cantú, the Redstone Ridge Raptors topped the Havana Comrades, 6-3. Cantú was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 for the Ridge Raptors. Greg Canseco, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-13. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 3. Jeff Johns converted his 31st save in 35 tries.
Brad Holland, who is tied for 5th in the FR in triples with 8, aided the Redstone cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 3.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Cantú.
The win puts Redstone at 57-89.
