The Michigan Militia earned a close win over the West Island Storm, thanks in part to Riku Mainila. The Michigan right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the AP with a 9.9 K/9 rate, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The Appalachian Northern-leading Militia are 91-55.

Michigan took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jesse Ramírez hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Militia.

"We did enough to win," said Mainila.
