Rum Runners Suffer 6-2 Loss to Monuments
|
Washington Monuments starter George Skinner hurled his team past the Orlando Rum Runners, 6-2. With the victory, the Monuments upped their record to 86-60.
The Monuments got an important contribution from center fielder Tetsuhiko Matsumoto, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a first pitch screwball into center for a 2-run double. It was his 27th double of the season and put the Monuments ahead, 5-1.
"I like our moxie," said Monuments manager Ed Malloy.
