Manuel Vega did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates from being beaten, 4-3, to the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks at Liquor Luge. Vega was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Vincent Dickey earned his 28th save in 29 chances. Philadelphia is now 68-79, Glacier Bay 79-66.
Allan Schneider, who is tied for 6th in the FR in hits with 164, helped out the Philadelphia cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
After the game, Philadelphia manager Joey Santangelo applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
