The Philadelphia Cheesesteaks defeated the Death Valley Burn, 13-3. Shortstop Dave McDonald deserved a large share of the credit. McDonald went 3 for 6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Cheesesteaks. Ken Barnett, who is on pace for 215 strikeouts this season, was the winner. He's now 3-2. The loser was John Allain. Philadelphia has 3 straight wins, Death Valley 3 straight losses.

With Philadelphia leading 3-0 in the top of the second, McDonald hit a cutter from John Allain for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Cheesesteaks ahead, 6-0.
