Cuervo Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Ice Pirates
Thanks in large part to shortstop Mario Amézaga, the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates beat the San Jose Cuervo, 8-7. Amézaga was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The winner in relief was Iván Ruíz. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-3. With the win, Glacier Bay upped its record to 82-66.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Amézaga delivered big-time for Glacier Bay, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Felipe Estrada. The game-changing hit put the Ice Pirates on top, 8-7.
