Barajas Helps Vermont Cruise to 11-3 Win
The Vermont Lake Monsters put together a convincing win at Krono Field, defeating the Orlando Rum Runners, 11-3. Jorge Barajas was one of the hitting stars. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Vermont. Hoyt Murphy, the winner, is now 10-5. He struck out 6 and walked 2 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The last-place Rum Runners dropped to 69-80.

With Vermont leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Barajas hit a fastball from Fernando Hernández for a grand slam home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Lake Monsters ahead, 6-1.

"It was a solid team effort," Barajas said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
