Amarillo starter Fernando Hernández put a stranglehold on the Minneapolis offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Chicken Haulers to a 4-1 win. Amarillo, at 62-88, holds down 4th place in the Appalachian Southern.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Alberto Cruz? The Amarillo designated hitter had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Chicken Haulers on top, 2-1. For the game, Cruz had 1 double and 3 singles in 5 at-bats.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Amarillo skipper James Walker.
