Newark Gets 3-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Francisco Chapa gave the Newark Falcons a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 3-2, at The Chicken Coop. Chapa got the win, improving to 11-8. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Ted Bigham, credited with the save, is now 7 for 9 in save opportunities.
Peter Norman, who is tied for 8th in the AP in bases on balls with 67, had a direct impact on the outcome. Norman contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Newark up, 2-1.
