Rum Runners Suffer One-Run Loss at West Island
The West Island Storm had to overcome a fine effort from Orlando pitcher Ted Stevens to win, 4-3, at Hot Box. Stevens went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belonged to Alfredo Careno in relief. His record improves to 7-8. Kevin MacDonleavy took the loss for Orlando. The victory puts West Island at 60-91.

West Island took a 4-3 lead on Ken Wells's 29th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Wells hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Orlando pitcher Kevin MacDonleavy visibly frustrated.
