Rum Runners Take Down Monuments, 3-2
|
Washington got a big-time effort from pitcher George Skinner, but it wasn't enough to keep the Orlando Rum Runners from winning the game, 3-2. Skinner threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Orlando goes to 8-7.
The Rum Runners relied on shortstop Ben Williams for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.
"This place was rocking at the end," Williams said.
