The West Island Storm beat the Minneapolis Maulers, 7-4, at MacLaren Stadium. The Storm got a fine performance from designated hitter Kuei-lin Chia, who was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Lee Costa, the winning pitcher, is now 15-9. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 4. Earning his 37th save for West Island was Juan Marino.

With West Island leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Chia hit a slider from Jorge Martínez for a 3-run home run. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Storm ahead, 6-0.
