Vega Socks It to Bearers, Cracks 5 Hits
Even as a kid, Manuel Vega said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Casket County Stadium today, Vega showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 34-year-old right fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, helping his team knock off the St. Paul Bearers by a score of 7-6.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."

Manuel Vega hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Rafael Enríquez in the 9th.
