Ice Pirates Hand Comrades 3-1 Loss
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates and the Havana Comrades, Ron Collins, who is tied for 9th in the FR in quality starts with 16, proved to be the difference. The Glacier Bay right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Ice Pirates win. David Hodge locked down his 4th save. Glacier Bay goes to 95-59. The win puts them 12 games up in their division.
Glacier Bay used the timely hitting of Nick O'Farrell to capture the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ice Pirates on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We busted our tails," said Havana manager . "But we came up short."
