The Laredo Border Jumpers got a strong performance from pitcher Wiley Prince, who stymied the Iowa offense en route to a win, 7-2, at BackWet Stadium. The first-place Border Jumpers have won 4 in a row.

Gerardo Maldonado hit a bases-clearing double off Mitsuzuka Ishihara in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Border Jumpers in front, 4-1. In addition to the double, Maldonado had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.

"Obviously," said Iowa manager Andy Ward, "we're in a tailspin right now."
