The home crowd had a good time watching the Minneapolis Maulers and Newark Falcons get after it.

Newark pitcher Josh Jones did his part in helping his team defeat the Minneapolis Maulers, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Rob Heath collected his 28th save.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Louie Nelson didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Minneapolis trailing 4-2, Nelson retired Dan O'Gill to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Nelson, with a wink.

With the win, the Falcons sit at 81-74.
