Great Effort by Ledbrook Wasted in 7-6 Monuments Loss
|
The West Island Storm overcame a fine performance by Washington catcher Kyle Ledbrook to defeat the Monuments, 7-6, at The Grand Lodge. Ledbrook belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Chris Hall. He's now 18-10. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits for the Storm. Juan Marino was called on to finish, recording his 39th save.
West Island used the bat of Gilberto Amador to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Storm ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It was our day today," Amador told the West Island Daily News. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The winning continues for West Island , with the latest making it 8 straight.
