The Michigan Militia defeated the West Island Storm, 5-4, in part because of designated hitter Ed Vance. Vance went 2 for 4 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Militia. The winning pitcher was former first round draft pick Bryan Burton. He tossed 84 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Ken Farley picked up his 3rd save of the season.

Vance contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Michigan get the win.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," West Island manager Matthew Tietz said, following the tough loss.

Now 3-13, the 2075 Storm have sputtered in the early going.
