Burn Come Back Late to Clip Mashers

Vargas Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Death Valley Burn and Crab Apple Cove Mashers.
The Death Valley Burn had to overcome a good performance from Crab Apple Cove pitcher Kevin Underwood to claim a 3-2 win at Vargas Field. Underwood went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The win for the Burn lifted their record to 82-74.
Had Vincent Hill not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hill hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Burn.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Hill said.
