Comrades Down Ice Pirates, 7-1

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old center fielder Roger Brandt, the Havana Comrades stopped the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates, 7-1, in 9 innings. Havana reliever Cliff Kelly picked up the win, while Wiley Prince took the loss for Glacier Bay. José Zavala earned the save for Havana, his 3rd.
The Comrades got a big at-bat from first baseman Roberto Suárez. For the game, Suárez was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 21st home run of the season gave Havana a 2-0 lead.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Brandt told the Havana Citizen.
The win for the Comrades lifted their record to 81-74.
