Battle Field was the site of a competitive game between the Orlando Rum Runners and Richmond Ravens.

The Richmond Ravens defeated the Orlando Rum Runners, 4-2, in Appalachian action at Battle Field. Richmond pitcher Tomás Chávez had a standout performance. In 8.1 innings, Chávez surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Luis Galván nailed down his 3rd save.

One of the clutch hits for Richmond came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, Dan O'Connor, who finished 3rd in the AP in on-base percentage with .375 last year, hit a run-scoring single to put the Ravens up, 2-1.
