The Orlando Rum Runners stymied the Honolulu High Tide, 5-1, at Champagne of Beers Field. Mike Allen had a good day at the plate. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Orlando. Picking up the win was Ted Stevens. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 0. Jimmy McQuartie nailed down the save.

With Orlando leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Allen hit a fastball from Tom Wheeler for a 3-run home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Rum Runners ahead, 5-1.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Allen told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."

Orlando now owns a record of 73-83.
