With 10-3 Win, Ridge Raptors Go to 84-73
|
The 10-3 Redstone win over Laredo was due in large part to Manny García. The Ridge Raptors right fielder went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Redstone reliever Leonard Johnston picked up the win, upping his record to 16-3. John Weaver was saddled with the loss. With the win, Redstone pushed its record to 84-73.
Redstone second baseman Kyle Gaines contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 111st hit of the season and put the Ridge Raptors ahead, 2-0.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," García told a local reporter after the game.
