Border Jumpers Make It 6 In a Row with 7-2 Triumph Over San Jose
Laredo Border Jumpers starter Fernando Segura pitched effectively against the San Jose Cuervo at BackWet Stadium. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 7-2 win. Segura, now 10-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Ángel García was credited with the save for Laredo, his 4th of the season.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Ángel García didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and San Jose trailing 3-2, García retired Victor Baird to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said García, with a wink.
