Cook, Laredo Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
The Laredo Border Jumpers picked up a win at BackWet Stadium, taking down the Death Valley Burn, 2-1. Starting pitcher Michael Cook was a big reason why. The save was credited to Andrew Dougherty, his 3rd. Laredo, now 6-11, is off to a slow start.
Cook was in midseason form against the Burn. He allowed no runs on 3 hits and fanned 14 in his 8-inning effort.
"Runs were at a premium," said Laredo manager Dave Galindo.
