Border Jumpers Beaten By Ridge Raptors, 5-3
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Laredo Border Jumpers and Redstone Ridge Raptors get after it.
The Redstone Ridge Raptors locked up a win at The Raptor's Nest, knocking off the Laredo Border Jumpers, 5-3. On the mound for Redstone was right-hander Phil Brown. He played a major role in the triumph. Josh Givens, now 2-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Victor Jones notched his 34th save in 38 chances.
Alfonso Alejándrez, who is tied for 5th in the FR with a .393 on-base percentage, helped out the Redstone cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Alejándrez.
The triumph puts Redstone at 85-73 for the season.
